What it was
A WordPress blog on a stock magazine theme, titled “Any Replica Watches Review — better buy watches”, with a menu of luxury brand names and about 125 posts: buying guides, “best replica site” lists, model-by-model “reviews” and gift guides, all for imitation versions of expensive Swiss watches. The About page said: “We don’t sell replica watches directly on blogs — but we will help you find out who the best replicas watch dealers are — all over the world”, and invited readers to rank “fake watch merchants”.
What it was for
A replica-review blog is a funnel: it ranks in search for brand-plus-“replica” phrases and passes readers to counterfeit sellers, who are often the blog’s owners. Selling counterfeit goods that bear a registered trademark is unlawful in the United States and in most other countries, and buyers routinely receive something other than what they paid for, or nothing.
The lawsuits
In October 2021, eight Swatch Group watch companies sued more than a hundred websites for trademark counterfeiting in OMEGA SA et al. v. copyomegawatches.co et al. (S.D. Fla. No. 0:21-cv-62119); BETTERBUYWATCHES.COM was among the named defendant domains. None of the defendants appeared; the court entered a final default judgment and permanent injunction, and the case closed in March 2022. In October 2022 the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH and several watchmakers brought a similar suit, FH et al. v. bestintimes.me et al. (No. 0:22-cv-62000), which also ended in a default judgment in December 2022; secondary sources list this domain among its defendants too. This archive records the dockets; it does not describe the injunctions’ terms, which are not reproduced in the sources reviewed.
Why its pages return 410
Elsewhere in this family of archives, a dead site’s old addresses redirect to a page about them. Not here. The blog’s post and tag URLs existed to rank for counterfeit searches; redirecting them would hand that ranking to this site. So all of them answer 410 Gone, which tells search engines to drop them. Brand names are kept out of this site’s titles, headings and metadata for the same reason, and none of the blog’s text, images or dealer links is reproduced.
Afterwards
The blog’s last capture is January 2022, between the two judgments. A blog with the same title later appeared on a different domain; it is not linked here.
